Tommy Bridewell has left the Honda Racing Bennetts British Superbike Championship team after two seasons.

Rumours began circulating at the final round of the 2025 season at Brands Hatch earlier this month that Bridewell could leave the team after a difficult second campaign onboard the Fireblade.

Bridewell ended his season fifth in the championship, a year after narrowly losing out to Kyle Ryde in the title fight by a single point. Bridewell celebrated just one victory this year, with five further podium finishes.

“I want to thank Honda and all of the team for the last two seasons together,” Bridewell said. “To have taken Honda back to the front in BSB has been a privilege and I am proud of the results that we achieved together.

“We came within a point of a title in our first year together and proved a lot of people wrong, and even though this year has been tough, we have still pushed forward, won a race and scored podiums. I wish Honda all the best in the future.”

Bridewell’s intentions for the 2026 season are yet to be revealed, however, he’s likely to be linked with the new Superbike Advocates Ducati team given Bridewell’s previous success with the manufacturer.

Bridewell has spent the majority of his BSB career onboard Ducati machinery, first with Moto Rapido Racing for five-and-a-half years, and then with PBM in 2023. Bridewell won the title that year by half-a-point after defeating teammate Glenn Irwin.

Meanwhile, It’s not yet known who will take Bridewell’s place at Honda, who have already announced the signing of Ryan Vickers for 2026. Vickers returns to BSB after a single season in the World Superbike Championship with Motocorsa Racing Ducati.

Andrew Irwin also leaves the team after a three-season second stint onboard the Fireblade, and his plans for 2026 have not yet been revealed.

“I would like to thank Tommy for his remarkable contributions to Honda Racing over the past two seasons,” Honda Racing Team Principal, Neil Fletcher said. “Together we achieved race wins, podiums and came within a point of a championship title.

“His relentless commitment when on the bike is testament to the determination that he embodies, there are very few riders who, when the visor goes down and the lights go out, give quite as much as Tommy does. On behalf of everyone at Honda Racing I wish him well in his future racing and we look forward to sharing the race track again soon.”
